Porto Brandão

Europan 12, Almada, 2014

Competition: 1st prize, Under construction

Our design approach considers Porto Brandao as a potential strong urban “catalyst” in the suburbs of Lisbon. Because of its characteristics and specific needs, Porto Brandao will gain a new centrality working as an activator of new urban dynamics on the outro lado of Lisbon’s area, assisting the metabolic transformation of the city itself. This idea can be expanded to other possible new poles working as a net generating osmotic dynamics that transform all into a healthier organism. Being on the other side is what defines the need of having a strong identity, enhancing relations with the city.
